After the Free Months, $149

Worth knowing before you weigh any of this: Maryland Registered Agent.co is Bizee's competitor and makes $99 a year from anyone who switches over. Bizee's numbers below are quoted from their published pricing, not spun into something uglier.

Free Months Are Free Money

Bizee, formerly Incfile, throws in registered agent service with its formation packages for somewhere between three months and a full year, depending which package you pick. Maryland wants an agent on file from the day SDAT accepts your Articles of Organization, so having that requirement covered at no charge is a straightforward win for anybody who was filing through Bizee anyway. Take it.

Then It Is $149 a Year

The free stretch ends and standalone service picks up at $149 annually. Bizee prints that number, so this is not a transparency complaint. It is a behavior complaint. Costs that begin at zero never earn a slot in your attention, and the three-month version of the deal runs out while a brand new owner is still sorting out a bank account and a first client.

Compare the recurring numbers instead, since the agent requirement outlives every promotion attached to it.

Fifty a year. Two hundred and fifty over five. Not life changing, but it is real money for identical work.

Maryland Asks for Two Things, Not One

Something worth knowing while you are still setting up, because agent marketing rarely mentions it. Section 4A-210 says every Maryland LLC shall have a principal office in this state and a resident agent. Two separate requirements, both recorded at SDAT. Most states only ask for the agent. Hiring any service on this page settles the agent half of that. The principal office is still yours to keep accurate, and no subscription makes it go away.

Why $99 Has Nowhere to Go

Nothing here is promotional, so nothing here converts into anything. You pay $99, twelve months pass, you pay $99. Inside that: our Maryland street address on the public filing rather than yours, same-day scanning of anything served on us, an email the second it lands, a portal open around the clock, and reminders before the April 15 deadline carrying Maryland's flat $300 report fee.

The Paperwork That Ends the Bizee Arrangement

It is one document and $25. Its formal name runs long: Resolution to Change Principal Office or Resident Agent. That phrase is also the only handle you get, because SDAT skips form numbers on charter filings.

Do it in this order:

1. Enroll with the replacement first, because the resolution has to name an incoming agent.
2. Fill in the entity name, the SDAT identification number, and the new agent's Maryland address.
3. Sign it and send it to SDAT's Charter Division with $25. Online filings run through Maryland Business Express, where a card payment adds a 3 percent service charge.
4. Refresh the entity record until the new name is showing there.
5. Leave the Bizee arrangement alone until step four is done.

Skipping straight to cancellation is how people end up with an empty agent line, and an empty agent line is how a summons goes to an address nobody is watching. Keep the overlap. It costs you nothing when the old service was free anyway.
